Hibiscus Roseus

Information

Edward Step and William Watson´s work Favorite Flowers of Garden and Greenhouse differs from other botanical works in that it focuses purely on, in the words of Mr Step, "plants which give brilliance and charm to the garden." The authors' objective was to present reliable portraits of the most beautiful plants.
We think the authors did a fine job and their prints are wonderfully drawn and brilliantly colored. Each plate contains a note beneath the flower of how it compares to the flower's natural size. Prints from this work are rare compared to many other botanical prints such as those from The Botanical Register.
This is an authentic antique, not a reproduction.
