| Information |
Sydenham Teast Edwards was the son of a Welsh schoolmaster and the
inseparable companion of William Curtis on his botanical expeditions.
He was a superb, conscientious botanical artist and worked for many years
with Curtis on the Botanical Magazine. As a result of a disagreement with
Curtis in 1815, Edwards started a rival publication, The Botanical Register,
from which this print is from. |
