Information

David Wooster was a Fellow of the Royal Horticultural Society and Assistant Secretary to the Royal Commission on scientific instruction and advancement of science.

This print is from an interesting work by Wooster that was produced at a time when efforts were being made to restore to popular favour the beautiful, compact alpine flowers which are mostly natives of mountainous areas.

The colours in Wooster's prints have a soft, elegant, pastel like quality.

Print method

Chromolithograph. Print on one side, blank on the reverse.

Condition

Very good condition. The colours are fresh and bright.
There is the odd spot of faint foxing on a few of the prints, for the most part they are exceptionally clean.
