Peter Griffin

A paddle steamer is a steamship or riverboat powered by a steam engine that drives paddle wheels to propel the craft through the water. In 1737 Jonathan Hulls, a British clock repairer, submitted his patent for a steam powered tug boat, beginning the era of steam powered ships.

Peter Griffin was a British steam ship enthusiast who studied the history of paddle steamers around the world and created beautiful illustrations of famous paddle steamers, which were made as lithographs in Holland in 1968.
