The Taj Mahal is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on river Yamuna in Agra. It was commissioned in 1631 by the fifth Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan to house the tomb of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal.It was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983.This is a black and white engraving by Robert Montgomery Martin and was published in 1857. It is a genuine antique, not a reproduction and is in very good condition.
