Black Detroit and Cornish Gilliflower
This antique lithograph is over 160 years old and shows delicious fruit that was cultivated in New York state. Nowadays, many of these fruit would be described as heirloom varieties, which are increasingly sought after as people seek more interesting flavors than the fruit commonly found in supermarkets. Antique prints of fruit look great in kitchens and near windows that overlook gardens.
It is from a work by Dr Ebenezer Emmons and was printed in Albany, New York by C. Van Benthusen in 1851. It is in good condition for its age. The colors are strong and bright.
It is a lithograph printed on thick, matt paper and has attractive hand finished coloring.
