Genuine antique prints of Roman buildings and art. Classical art has always been enormously popular, never more so than during the 19th century when rich young men went on their Grand Tours through Europe and the Middle East exploring classical cultures. Travel was arduous and costly and possible only for a privileged class - the same that produced gentleman scientists, authors, antiquaries, and patrons of the arts. Italy was an essential country to visit, most particularly Rome with its Greco-Roman statues and views of famous ruins, fountains, and churches.
