Taeping and Ariel
These two ships took part in the greatest ocean race in history, the tea race of 1866 in which 16 of the finest clippers participated. The Taeping, Ariel and Serica were among the first ships away, crossing the bar of the Mong river and after 99 days the three ships docked within one and a half hours of each other.
This lithograph was made in the 1950s by litho-offset on very high quality, thick paper. The paper is creamy white and in excellent condition.
