This hand colored antique lithograph was made in 1836. It is from Naturgeschichte und Abildungen der Filche by Heinrich Rudolph Scinz and Karl Brodtmann. Schinz (1777-1861) was a Swiss physician and naturalist and curator of the natural history society of Zurich. Karl Joseph Brodtmann is considered one of the finest illustrators of animals.
This print is an authentic antique, not a reproduction. It is in excellent condition. The hand painted coloring is superb and uses a beautiful range of colors. The paper is thick and high quality.
