21 x 12.5 cm (8.5 x 5 inches)
This original aquatint engraving by William Daniell is superbly detailed and fascinating. Daniell (1769-1837) was an excellent English print maker and painter. He illustrated his subjects with delightful backgrounds and landscapes, inspiring the style of later naturalists such as Audubon and Gould. His work included paintings and aquatint engravings about India, zoology and nature. This antique print was made by aquatint engraving. It is in very good condition considering it was made over 200 years ago. This is a genuine antique not a reproduction.
