Ferns

Discover genuine antique prints of ferns.

Ferns have always been a popular subject matter in art. Perhaps it's their elegant shapes and relaxing colours? However, the Victorians went crazy for ferns!

Victorian decorative arts used fern motifs everywhere. This craze for ferns was even given a name " Pteridomania", meaning "Fern Mania."

Ferns were not studied much until about 1830. This made them a great source of new discoveries. Many naturalists hunted worldwide for ferns. Victorian artists and printmakers created excellent engravings and lithographs of ferns.

Here's a big selection of genuine antique prints of ferns for you to choose from. Ferns have elegant shapes and restful colours so make timeless home decor.
