Frederick William Frohawk (1861-1946) was an English zoological artist. He illustrated birds and butterflies.
Frohawk was born in Norfolk, the son of a wealthy farmer. His father nurtured Frederick's interest in drawing and natural history. Frohawk concentrated on illustration and his first commission was illustrating for The Field magazine. Lord Walter Rothschild encouraged his work and purchased his water-colours of butterflies.
Frohawk was expert at illustrating wildlife in a lifelike way. He often included beautiful background scenery.
Here are some of his lithographs for you to choose from. They are genuine antiques that are over 100 years old.
