General View Of The Ruins Of Luxor, From The Nile
28.5 x 20 cm (11.2 x 7.7 inches)
Remains of ancient Thebes
This antique lithograph
was made in 1855 and is from "The Holy Land" by David Roberts
it was lithographed by Day & Son in England. The Holy Land is probably the greatest travel work ever produced. In 1838, Roberts traveled through the region, drawing over 200 views of scenery, people and buildings. These attractive lithographs are likely to become more valuable as the subject matter and artist have enduring popularity and sets of prints are scarce. It was made by duo tone lithography on paper which is light, creamy white and is in excellent condition.
