George Philip was a cartographer, map publisher and founder of the publishing house George Philip & Son Ltd during the 1800's. In 1834, he set up his own business as a bookseller and stationer in Paradise Street, Liverpool. He expanded the business by producing books, particularly educational works and maps.
His maps ranged from the expensive Imperial Library Atlas to an atlas costing as little as 3 shillings. Most of his atlases were for the commercial and educational markets. However, he also produced important scientific maps. Particularly of North America, the Arctic and Pacific Northwest, and of the West Indies.
Here are antiques maps from Philips Imperial Atlas for you to choose from. They are genuine antique maps, made in 1890.
