Interior Of The Temple Of Esne, In Upper Egypt.

28.5 x 20 cm (11.2 x 7.7 inches)
This temple was dedicated to three Egyptian gods. The structure as it appears today is almost completely of the Ptolemaic and Roman eras. The colossal fluted columns are topped with papyrus and lotus patterns.

This antique lithograph was made in 1855 and is from "The Holy Land" by David Robertsit was lithographed by Day & Son in England. The Holy Land is probably the greatest travel work ever produced. In 1838, Roberts traveled through the region, drawing over 200 views of scenery, people and buildings. These attractive lithographs are likely to become more valuable as the subject matter and artist have enduring popularity and sets of prints are scarce. It was made by duo tone lithography on paper which is light, creamy white and is in excellent condition.
