These antique prints of ferns are by James Britten (1846 – 1924).
Britten was an English botanist and worked at the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew in London. In 1871 he joined the Department of Botany at the British Museum. He was editor of the Journal of Botany, British and Foreign for 45 years.
