Jan Adrianus Herklots (1819 -1872) was a Dutch medical and biology student. In 1846 he became a conservator of Natural History at the Rijksmuseum and by 1851 he was a curator of the marine invertebrate collection at the Museum of Leiden. Choose from these beautiful lithographs of starfish and other marine life. They were made by Herklots in 1868 and are rare.
