John Gerardus Keulemans (1842 – 1912) was a prolific Dutch wildlife artist. He lived in England, where he was in great demand.
Keulemans had a special talent for capturing the essential characteristics of animals. His work is life-like, accurate and detailed. Scientific illustration values this, so his talent was in great demand. We rate him as one of the best natural history artists of the last 200 years.
