A castle has been on the site since 1086. In the 16th century, Henry VIII used it as a dwelling for his first wife, Catherine of Aragon.
This original antique lithograph of a British stately home was made in the 1880s by Alexander Francis Lydon. Lydon was a renowned perfectionist. He was expert at creating beautifully coloured prints. He worked for Benjamin Fawcett the printer. He collaborated on his prints of stately homes with Reverend Francis Orpen Morris
