This is an antique chromolithograph from Le Jardin Fleuriste which was published from 1851 to 1854 by Charles Antoine Lemaire (Professor of Botany), in an era of travel and exploration. Plants from around the world were being collected and bought back to Europe and eagerly studied by botanists and horticulturalists.
