This original antique engraving is from a work by George Alexander Cooke, Universal Geography, which described voyages, travels and discoveries of great explorers of the era such as Captain James Cook, Furneaux, Magellan, Drake, Anson, Dampier and Wallis. It was made by copper plate engraving in 1801 on medium weight, chain-linked cotton rich, paper. It is in very good condition with a few dots of foxing and small unobtrusive marks as shown in the above image.
