Protection: a *caryatid wearing the aegis (shield), her left arm raised, her right hand resting on a shield.
This is a large engraving with etching, made in Paris in 1690 by Gerard Audran. This engraving is of a figure painted by Raphael of Urbino in the Room of Heliodorus in the Vatican.
It was made on heavy weight chain-linked paper made from cotton. The engraving is on one side, the other side is blank. The print is blind stamped "Musees du Louvre". This is a genuine antique print, not a reproduction. It is in very good condition.
