This large, vintage lithograph is by Georg Dionysius Ehret (1708-1770), one the greatest botanical artists of all time. His artworks are accurate and have the utmost clarity. Many of the great families of Europe competed for his services. Nowadays, his original art work may be found at important institutions such as the Natural History Museum in London, the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, The Royal Society, London, the Lindley Library at the Royal Horticultural Society and the Victoria and Albert Museum. This large, high quality lithograph of his work was made in England in the 1950s.
