Race Horse
38 x 26.5 cm (15 x 10.5 inches).
This lovely antique engraving, which is over 120 years old, is from a series of highly finished engravings of dogs and horses, mainly associated with field sports. They were made in London in the late 1800s by John Scott and are quite rare. Scott was a master at his art as the detail in these engravings is superb. He based his engravings on original paintings by Stubbs, Gilpin, Reinagle, Marshall and Cooper. It is a genuine antique, not a reproduction, and is in excellent condition.
