Richard Bowdler Sharpe (1847 - 1909), an English zoologist at the British Museum. He founded the British Ornithologists' Club in 1892. He was fellow of the Linnean Society and the Zoological Society of London.
Many bird species are named after him.
His work on birds was scientific, yet popular - as it had high quality colour illustrations. His colorful lithographs show birds in their habitual natural scenery.
