Sir Matthew Digby Wyatt (1820 – 1877) was a British architect and art historian. He was the first Slade Professor of Fine Art at the University of Cambridge.
He became Secretary of the Great Exhibition, Surveyor of the East India Company and secretary of the Royal Institute of British Architects. In 1866 he was awarded the Royal Gold Medal.
Whilst at Cambridge, he studied the illuminations on medieval manuscripts. This included creating lithographs to illustrate the evolution of fonts and embellishments.
Here are many of the lithographs for you to choose from. They are genuine antiques from the 1860s.
