Sir William Dugdale

Sir William Dugdale was was an English antiquary and herald. He was influential in developing the academic study of medieval history.

His most famous work is "Monasticon Anglicanum". This is a fascinating account of the history of ancient abbeys, monasteries, hospitals, cathedrals and churches in England and Wales.
