Spoonbill
19 x 11 cm (7.5 x 4.5 inches).
This is an antique chromolithograph from a work by Richard Bowdler-Sharpe (1847 - 1909), an English zoologist in the Zoological Department of the British Museum. He founded the British Ornithologists' Club in 1892. His work on birds was scientific, yet popular and contained accurate, colorful lithographs showing the birds in their habitual natural scenery. This is an original antique, not a reproduction. It was made in 1897 by chromolithography and is in excellent condition.
