A pass from the commune (1871)
This is a stylish antique engraving of vintage fashions of Paris, France, by the talented French artist Francois Courboin. It was made in the 1890s and is an original antique, not a reproduction. Following the French Revolution (1789-1799), the 19th Century was a tumultuous time for France as society attempted to restructure its social value system. Courboin beautifully illustrated the changing fashions of this period in this stylish set of hand coloured engravings. It was made by printing from an engraved wooden printing plate. It has beautiful, original hand painted coloring and is in excellent condition.
