A tubular bridge is a bridge built as a rigid box girder section within which the traffic is carried. The Britannia Bridge was designed by the famous engineer Robert Stephenson. It eventually burnt down in 1970.

This highly quality engraving was created in the mid 1800s by Charles Tomlinson for a cyclopedia.
Tomlinson (1808 - 1897) was a British scientist and a member of the Royal Society.
It is an original antique print and in excellent condition.
