Coryphaena hippurus. Also known as the Dorado or Mahi-Mahi (which means very strong in Hawaiian)
This vintage lithograph is based on a work by Marcus-Eliezer Bloch and was made in London in the 1950s. It's on thick paper which is blank on reverse. The paper is a light creamy white. It is in excellent condition. Marcus-Eliezer Bloch was born in 1723 Bavaria, and his work Allgemeine Naturgeschichte der Fische (a 12-volume, beautifully illustrated work on fishes) laid the foundations of the science of ichthyology.
