The Kraken supposed a Sepia or Cuttlefish

15.8 x 9.8 cm (6.2 x 4.0 inches)

This finely detailed engraving was made in London in the 1840s.
It is a genuine antique, not a reproduction and is in very good condition. The original hand colouring and engraving is excellent. The publishing company William Home Lizars of London and Edinburgh, made this delightful set of engravings.
This is a steel plate engraving, on medium weight paper with the image on one side and it is blank on the reverse side. The paper is a creamy tone, slightly darker at the edge.
