This hand colored engraving is from a set published in London in the 1860s by Fullarton and Company of London and Edinburgh, and was made to educate the general population about natural history. It was made by steel plate engraving and has original, hand painted colors. It is in very good condition. The paper is creamy white and the hand coloring is well done and uses a beautiful range of colors. There a few faint specks of foxing.
