William Rhind ( 1797 - 1894) was a prominent Victorian botanist who lectured in Botany in Aberdeen, Scotland. J.Bishop and William Fitch were his illustrators. Fitch was an outstanding botanical artist who had an incredible ability in drawing complex botanical structures. Sir Joseph Hooker paid many tributes to him and praised his incomparable skill in seizing the natural character of a plant.
