This high quality vintage lithograph of a thoroughbred horse painting by J. F Herring (senr) is in excellent condition. The paper is thick and light creamy white and is blank on the reverse side. John Frederick Herring Sr. (1795 – 1865), was a painter, sign maker and coachman in Victorian England. Herring's talent was recognized by wealthy customers, and he began painting hunters and racehorses for the gentry.
